Family business of Argentine origin and capital, dedicated to the manufacturing, marketing and distribution of consumer electronics and household items, Visuar began its activities in Buenos Aires in August 1992 importing and distributing video equipment. During the first decade it began looking for technological partners as part of a growth process and in May 1999 it was named official importer and distributor of Olympus in Argentina.

In March 2006, it signed a contract with Samsung Electronics Co to market the brand's products in the country and in 2009, Visuar Uruguay was founded, a subsidiary with offices and a distribution center in Montevideo. In 2012, construction of the current facilities began and in 2013 they were inaugurated. The performance of the business, plus the favorable conditions for investment in Uruguay, such as the Investment Promotion Law and macroeconomic stability, opened the possibility of making investments and beginning to build the new infrastructure on which its growth is supported today.

In 2012, thanks to a loan from the Bicentennial Fund added to an agreement with Samsung Electronics Co, it went from an importing company to a manufacturer. In May 2013, the washing machine factory was inaugurated in Cañuelas, Province of Buenos Aires, and then Samsung microwaves and vacuum cleaners were incorporated. In January 2016, the construction of the Distribution Center was completed and at the end of that same year, construction of the refrigerator plant began, inaugurated in 2017. In May 2022, a new plant was put into operation where small appliances from the Smartlife own brand were produced.

Today, the company has more than 650 employees between the two countries. In Cañuelas, it has 3 floors and 1 logistics center and occupies a total area of ​​63,000 square meters.
