Peabody once again presents the contest that in its first edition led to the production of the eTermo, which already has important distinctions
This generation of the Peabody Prize will be exclusively for undergraduate design students, who will be able to register for free and submit their proposals until March 6, 2023 at www.premiopeabody.com.ar
From the result of the first edition, the development of eTermo was born, a product presented to the national market in 2021 and which already has distinctions such as the Good Design Seal in Argentina and in the Ibero-American Design Biennial and the Red Dot Design Award internationally.
The concept of the company
“Our company is about to turn 20 years old and the best way to celebrate it is by designing,” said Dante Choi, president of Goldmund S.A., the company that owns the brand. "After almost two decades of history, we understand design as the best way to think about objects, interfaces, spaces and even services. We are aware of the importance and impact it has on society. Although the disciplines of design have been perfected, the world today is more demanding. Responsible developments are required, with innovation, sustainability and society as axes. It is impossible not to think about its future in coexistence with the environment and focused on the diversity of people. I have the strong conviction that a product should "Be created not only with the personal identity of the designer but also with the imprint of the cultural identity of our society. Our e-Termo is a great example in this sense. Throughout the five years that its development took us, it was conceived as an added value for the user, designed to enrich the experience of use and the essence of the product is in the mate culture of Argentine society, a product that innovates the long-standing collective and social custom."
For all this, the Peabody Prize encourages new generations to explore our culture and new scenarios of daily life, with the aim of proposing ideas that have never been thought of and concepts that have not yet been devised.
Living inside and outside the home
The 2023 Peabody Prize proposes the challenge of designing for the various situations that may occur inside or outside the home or even in both places at the same time. You are invited to think about the design with a broad vision, proposing products, systems, interfaces and even devising new business formats.
The approach is at the discretion of the participants, as long as the proposals are significant, substantial and connect with the theme: "Living inside and outside the home. The aim is to promote innovation, putting the user experience and particular, local and/or global problems at the center, to improve people's quality of life.
