The 2022 Hot Sale showed an increase in units sold compared to 2021 events, including this year's Hot Sale, Cyber Monday, and Electro Fans.
The consulting firm GfK pointed out that this year Argentines are reinvesting their money in order to make the most of the discounts, and be one step ahead of inflation.
“There is a growing trend in the participation of the physical channel in total sales motivated by two main variables,” said Milagros Bin, Retail Manager at GfK Ar. “On the one hand, the return of the consumer to the point of sale and, on the other, the extension of online offers to branches. In this sense, it is increasingly observed that retailers are replicating the offers of the online channel in stores to attract omnichannel consumers.”
Most used channels and best-selling categories
This year, 81% of sales were made in the specialized channel and 19% directly in hypermarkets and supermarkets.
Among the leading categories in units sold, cell phones continue to lead this event with 21.8%, while second place was occupied this year by electric heating, with 19%. “It is interesting to note that this category went from third place to second with respect to the 2021 Hot Sale, driven by the early arrival of winter,” Bin added.
The top 5 best-selling categories are completed by televisions (15.4%), washing machines (4.5%) and food preparation appliances (3.8%).
