ASUS ROG Republic of Gamers is a leading brand in the world for the innovation of its equipment. Within the framework of the CES 2022 fair, it announced new technologies that allow gaming notebooks to have superior performance.

ROG innovations:

ROG Intelligent Cooling

One of ROG's innovations last year was to use a liquid metal thermal compound across its entire line of gaming notebooks. This way of avoiding equipment heating for better performance has now achieved better development: Thermal Grizzly's Conductonaut Extreme, a thermal compound designed for ultra-high performance scenarios, allows the CPU temperature to be reduced by up to 15°C compared to traditional thermal pastes.

This technology, present in the ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 and Strix SCAR 2022, allows the machines to maintain maximum performance for much longer during demanding workloads.

Another thermal solution is the AAS Plus 2.0, which allows 30% more airflow than a traditional gaming laptop. The Zephyrus Duo 16 notebook, which has a secondary screen, has a design that allows greater airflow to prevent heating.

Select models like the Zephyrus G14 and Flow Z13 come equipped with custom vapor chambers to improve cooling performance. This design has up to 50% more contact surface compared to traditional Heatpipes designs and covers major heat-producing components such as the CPU, GPU, and power regulation circuitry. With a vapor chamber, even the thinnest and lightest machines can stay cool during the most intense gaming sessions.

Altogether, the cooling system has an Artificial Intelligence solution that allows the fans to be activated only when necessary. Therefore, machines can easily remain silent during light workloads, because with the CPU below 50°C, the fans will turn off completely. Instead, when players demand more power from the computer, the Armory Crate software will automatically enable the fans.

New Nebula Display™ and Nebula™ HDR displays

ROG has a history of leadership in displays. The first brand to offer 120Hz and 144Hz refresh rate laptop displays to gamers today rolls out a new class of laptop gaming panels. The screens called ROG Nebula Display™ have a fast response and bright, vivid images.

These panels require a maximum brightness of 500 nits, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, Pantone® validation, as well as support for Dolby Vision® HDR and Adaptive-Sync. The panels are TÜV Rheinland™ Low Blue Light and Flicker-Free certified. They also need to achieve refresh rates of 165Hz or higher for FHD and 120Hz or higher for QHD and 4K resolutions, all while maintaining sub-3ms response times. ROG Nebula Display™ are the ultimate gaming panels and are included in the new ROG Zephyrus G14 and ROG Zephyrus Duo.

However, the Zephyrus Duo's Nebula panel is even more special, as its display is ROG Nebula HDR certified. This means that, in addition to all the above specifications, it has some improvements. Nebula HDR should offer a maximum brightness of 1100 nits, mini LED technology with 512 local dimming zones and a contrast ratio of 100,000:1. VESA DisplayHDR™ 1000 certified, this panel also has a 10-bit color depth, plus an increased refresh rate requirement of 165Hz with QHD resolution. ROG is proud to announce the Nebula HDR™ display as the new standard for HDR gaming on laptops.

MUX Switch

Modern gaming laptops use powerful graphics cards, but most route the frames produced through the CPU's integrated graphics before reaching the screen. Through a new announcement from ROG, the MUX switch, the GPU may offer higher performance by sending graphics directly to the screen.

This technology reduces latency, allows images to flow faster, increasing performance by up to 5-10% on average. Some games, such as Rainbow Six Siege, saw a 30% increase.

Gamers have the option to switch between modes easily: For situations that demand the best possible GPU performance, GPU Direct mode can be enabled. However, if we want to save battery, this mode can be deactivated.

All the equipment presented at CES 2022 will be arriving in Argentina between February and October of this year.
