The SIMPA Group acquires the Harley-Davidson brand in Argentina

With this new addition, from a brand with almost 120 years of history, the Argentine group consolidates itself as the main player in the medium and high-end segments of the two-wheeled market in Argentina.

SIMPA Group S.A. acquired the distribution of the Harley-Davidson Motor Company motorcycle brand in Argentina. With the aim of continuing its growth in the country, the SIMPA Group, which through its “motorcycle” division is a leader in the production and marketing of motorcycles, quadricycles and utility vehicles, expands its mobility proposal with the absorption of Harley-Davidson operations in Argentina, which today has 16 collaborators at the headquarters located at Av. Dardo Rocha 1654, Martínez, Bs. As; and the technical service at Av. Fleming 1124, Martínez. Bs. As.

Harley-Davidson has been officially in Argentina since 1994. It is estimated that there is a park of approximately 3,000 active vehicles of the brand in our country. The local business had been affected by import restrictions and was sustained for a few years with the focus on the after-sales service of its vehicle fleet.

The acquisition of Harley-Davidson in Argentina by the SIMPA Group allows the company to consolidate a local offer of 13 internationally renowned brands. Through its “motorcycle vehicles” division, SIMPA Group has two industrial plants where motorcycles from 5 well-known brands are produced and sold in more than 70 official dealerships throughout the country.

Regarding the incorporation of Harley-Davidson in Argentina, Martín Schwartz, director of the SIMPA Group, emphasized that "this acquisition aims to promote the strengthening and reactivation of Harley-Davidson in our country. We celebrate that this iconic brand continues in Argentina and that all jobs will be preserved. Among other projects, we are preparing together with Harley-Davidson Motor Company a national expansion plan with new points of sale and - above all - services."

In addition, Schwartz highlighted that "at the beginning of 2023 we will be relaunching the brand with a package of new features in terms of models and also new categories until now unexplored by the brand in our country. We trust that under our management Harley-Davidson will once again regain its relevance in the local market."

During 2022, the Simpa Group officially inaugurated its plant, with 35,000 m2 covered located on a 125,000 m2 lot, in the Pilar Industrial Park, province of Buenos Aires, which required an investment of more than 35 million dollars, where 100 direct collaborators already work. In this new plant, different models are produced for the “Motorcycles” division, as well as welders, generator sets and vacuum cleaners for the “GAMMA” brand of the “Machines and Tools” division.
