Due to the decline in tourism due to the coronavirus pandemic and the fear of sending their children to summer camps, a new peak in sales of video games for children was generated, as many families allocated savings to purchases of entertainment products.

In this context, Verbatim, a data storage technology company, announced that during the first days of January, sales of products related to gaming increased by 78%, compared to last year.

"Today, being a gamer in Argentina is not economical, but it is a market that continues to grow, mainly due to the continuity of the impulse that emerged at the beginning of the quarantine: there are more gamers and their games are "deepened"; on the other hand, thinking about the youngest, there are no colonies, fewer families can go on vacation and there are fewer social gatherings," confesses Gabriela Toscanini, Sales Manager LAR South at Verbatim.

The money allocated to gaming also rose due to the increase in the dollar and the greater supply of peripherals. Not only the console or the CPU is important, you also have to think about televisions, monitors, keyboards, mice, joysticks, MousePads, microphones and even armchairs.¬

Hay que recordar que cuando se consiguió todo lo necesario habrá que tener una buena conexión a internet, ya que sin ella todo lo invertido no sirve para nada.¬

“Históricamente enero era una fecha especial porque la gente destinaba sus gastos en compras de navidad, año nuevo y reyes, y se tomaba vacaciones. Hoy, ante la dificultad de viajar, la tendencia se volcó a que sea un mes de mayor ventas. En resumen, ser gamer en Argentina no es tan simple, pero por suerte existen los planes de cuotas que nos hacen las cosas un poco más simple”, sostiene Gabriela Toscanini, Sales manager LAR South de Verbatim.
