Logitech announced that it exceeded its commitment to incorporate post -consumption recycled plastic (PCR) into its products, reducing its carbon footprint and increasing the circularity of the materials used. In that sense, 65% of all mouse units and keyboards of the Logitech creativity and productivity portfolio, the largest product portfolio of the company, now include PCR plastic, exceeding their 50% commitment made in 2020.

All PCR plastic used in Logitech products comes from consumer electronic devices at the end of its useful life and products are certified by third parties through SCS Global Services. Delphine Donne-Crock, General Director of Creativity and Productivity of Logitech, mentioned: "By using post-consumption recycled plastic as our main material, we have been able to take significant measures to facilitate sustainable life to consumers, as well as generate a substantial impact towards the decrease in our carbon footprint."

Logitech is increasingly using PCR plastic in its product lines as part of its design approach for sustainability. Traditionally, many post -consumption recycled plastic resins have been limited to black or gray colors and do not usually have the same performance as virgin plastic. To achieve the same quality level, Logitech innovated in the characteristics of the material to give these plastics a second life. This innovative approach meets the sustainable commitment of the company without compromising the quality and integrity of the material or endangering the aesthetics of the products.

The percentage of recycled plastic in each product varies depending on the type, color and composition of the same and varies between 75% PCR content and 20% in the case of technically complex products of lighter colors. As a result of Logitech's work in collaboration with its suppliers, there are now more than 30 colors in the palette and the objective is to maximize the percentage of recycled content in each product, while guaranteeing their aesthetics and durability.

The company quickly increased the use of recycled plastics in just two years. In 2021, approximately 8,000 tons of virgin plastic were eliminated in brand products, reducing the global plastic demand derived from petrochemical products. This is equivalent to an estimated savings of 19,000 tons of CO2 throughout the product life cycle.
