The World Market

According to the latest data from Omdia, total shipments of desktops, laptops and workstations grew by 7.4% in the second quarter of 2025, reaching 67.6 million units. Shipments of desktop computers (including workstations) increased 9% to 13.7 million units. Second quarter volumes were driven by commercial PC deployments ahead of the end of Windows 10 support.
Consumer demand was weaker as customers around the world face an uncertain macroeconomic future. The Trump administration's shifting policy on tariffs continues to create considerable uncertainty. While PCs were exempt from tariffs in the second quarter, indirect impacts threaten not only the United States, they also affect the recovery of the global PC market.
