With more than 36% in Argentina, Motorola maintains the highest market share in the world
Motorola, part of the Lenovo group, announced that it closed the quarter from July to September with 36.2% market share in Argentina, the highest for the company globally. The company grew 60% locally in volume, 11 percentage points more than the industry. This allowed it to increase its market share 2.5 percentage points year-over-year according to the IDC Latin America Mobile Phone Tracker 3Q21, a report that contains the analysis of the third quarter of 2021.
The company also maintained a growth rate throughout Latin America, where in the same quarter it grew year-over-year by more than 7 percentage points, and reached the historical record of 23.7% market share, according to IDC, thanks to a year-on-year growth in volume of 35%, while the industry contracted 5%. Motorola is in second position in the regional market without interruption for the last 5 years.
"During the last quarter we launched the motorola edge 20 Pro and the motorola edge 20 Lite in Argentina, with which we entered to compete in the premium segment with great success. In addition, we also strengthened our most beloved family, moto g, with the arrival of the moto g60s. Today we are competing very strongly with the current portfolio and we are preparing for the future: we have already launched locally 5 phones compatible with 5G networks," said Germán Greco, general manager of Motorola Argentina.
