Aprilia, a motorcycle manufacturer belonging to the Italian group Piaggio, presented its Tuareg 660 model to the Argentine market, a medium-displacement trail bike with a more daring concept and great efficiency on the road and in the field.

It is equipped with the new 660 cc, 6-speed Euro 5 parallel twin engine; with 4 valves per cylinder and electronic injection; power of 80 HP at 9,250 rpm, with a torque of 70 Nm at 6,500 rpm and a 270° crankshaft with double overhead camshafts (DOHC). The fuel tank is 18 liters and consumption is 4 liters/100km.

It has two front and one rear brake discs (Brembo calipers; two pistons at the front, one at the rear) with an ABS delivered by Bosch and a set of Kayaba adjustable suspensions: the front with a 43 mm inverted fork and 240 mm of travel and the rear with an asymmetrical double-arm swingarm with progressive monoshock and 240 mm of travel. It comes with a 21” front wheel (90/90-21) and an 18” rear wheel (150/70-18), which are fitted with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires as standard, a tire with good grip on any terrain.

It offers four driving modes, 2 fixed and 2 customizable, that allow you to enjoy several engine maps: Urban, Explore and Off Road, in addition to the completely configurable Individual. The first two have preset settings, while Off Road is adjustable and allows you to disconnect both the ABS and the traction control and set certain parameters to the user's liking.

The APRC system guarantees maximum safety for trips on routes with many curves or highways and the 5″ digital TFT screen can be connected to the phone through the Aprilia MIA platform.

The full LED lighting is made up of triple optics and perimeter DRL. Integrated turn signals and the cornering light function complete the headlight.

In 2021, the Simpa Group, exclusive representative in Argentina of the Aprilia brand, announced the beginning of national production at its plant in the Pilar Industrial Park of the Aprilia SR 160 scooter, the first model of the Italian brand assembled in the country.
