The Government announces measures for the deregulation of household appliances
The deregulation covers eleven product categories, including air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, water heaters, televisions, microwaves, lamps, dishwashers, electric pumps, motors and electric ovens.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the Nation announced that it will simplify the procedures that importers and manufacturers of household appliances must be carried out in order to market their products in the country.
“Based on a Resolution that will be published this Tuesday in the Official Gazette, the technical regulation of energy efficiency will be modified. It will no longer be necessary to carry out an authorization procedure at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, a verification by Customs prior to marketing, or a mandatory certification,” reported the area dependent on the Ministry of Economy through its official social networks.
In this way, companies will be able to offer their products on the market, complying with the required conditions and signing a sworn declaration.
According to the Government, deregulation will benefit more than 150 companies, and will result in greater product offerings and greater competition, and a consequent lowering of prices.
The measure includes products such as air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, hot water tanks, televisions, microwaves, lamps, dishwashers, electric pumps, motors and electric ovens, and will come into force as of November 27, 2024, one day after its publication in the Official Gazette.
