TCL began its promotional campaign within the context of the Basketball World Cup, which will be held from August 31 to September 15, 2019 in China. The activities are part of the company's recent global brand initiatives to accompany youth communities around the world through sports.

As a global partner of this prestigious event, TCL will enjoy premium brand visibility on the fields of all matches and on online and offline promotional channels, in addition to presenting the “TCL Player of the Game” award after each match.

To enhance interaction with basketball fans around the world, TCL has developed activations in the FIBA Basketball Houses distributed in eight host cities in China: Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanjing, Wuhan, Dongguan and Foshan, where sports fans will be able to play basketball in virtual reality through TCL's high-quality televisions, offering an incredible audiovisual experience and having the possibility of watching the matches of the FIBA World Cup live. In addition, fans attending the World Cup will have the opportunity to show their love for the sport on FanCam presented by TCL on the giant screens in the stadiums during the breaks in play in each game.

Likewise, TCL will communicate the most notable moments of the World Cup through the company's Facebook and Twitter, through which it will also announce those consecrated in the “TCL Player” award for each match.

“We are excited to co-host and bring fans the celebration of the world's largest basketball festival,” said Yuki Wei, vice president of TCL. “Sports are now embedded in TCL’s DNA and we are passionate about inspiring and connecting with our youngest consumers through sports.”

The 18th edition of the FIBA Basketball World Cup features 32 teams for the first time, including China, 7 from Asia-Pacific, 5 from Africa, 7 from the United States and 12 from Europe.

TCL's partnership with the 2019 Basketball World Cup is part of the continuation of “Born A Legend,” TCL's latest and ongoing global marketing campaign that encourages users to upload videos to show the world how they strive to become their own legends.

TCL also became a global partner of CONMEBOL's Copa América Brasil 2019 and the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2018. On the other hand, Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx of the NBA and the Philippine Basketball Association, the San Jose Earthquakes soccer team, the Brazilian Football Confederation, Club Atlético Rosario Central and the National Basketball League (Argentina), the Melbourne Cup and the Melbourne Victory Football Club, constitute other global partners of TCL when it comes to sports.
