Sony announced the first interchangeable lens camera for vloggers in the Alpha series, the new ZV-E10. Designed for this segment, the new camera combines Sony's advanced imaging technology with extensive functionality and options designed especially for video creators.
The ZV-E10 camera features a 24.2 megapixel (approx. effective) Exmor™ APC-C CMOS sensor and a BIONZ Additionally, the ZV-E10 includes the acclaimed vlogging-specific features found in the popular ZV-1 digital camera, including the “Background Defocus” function that allows you to smoothly switch between a blurred (bokeh) and sharp background, as well as the “Product Showcase Setting” mode that allows the camera to quickly change focus between the face of the subject and a prominent object, with extreme precision.
“With the presentation of the ZV-E10, Sony's first interchangeable lens vlogger camera, we confirm our continued interest in listening to the voice of the consumer and also in offering a product that adapts to their tastes and needs” commented Angelo Marconi, category manager of Digital Imaging at Sony Latin. "The new ZV-E10 focused on video creation, guarantees maximum versatility and quality by being compatible with the more than 60 compatible E-Mount lenses, it also includes basic functions for any YouTuber. This makes it an ideal tool for vloggers who are looking for a transition to a more advanced studio or outdoor setup," he added.
The ZV-E10 camera with a compact design in a lightweight body (approx. 12 oz. / 343 g) includes a side-opening, vari-angle LCD screen. This simplifies setup and allows users to view the screen when shooting in selfie mode, from high or low angles.
In addition to the screen, the ZV-E10 camera includes several new features designed especially for vlogging, among which are two new buttons located on the top of the camera, the first especially dedicated to starting video recording, and the second, a mode button that allows creators to easily switch between the different recording modes (Still/Movie/Slow & Quick), just by pressing it.
The new camera also includes advanced video features, such as 4K video recording (QFHD: 3840 x 2160) and Slow Motion with high image quality (FHD 120p). Likewise, it is equipped with electronic image stabilization with Active Mode that offers stable video recordings even when walking or with the camera handheld.
Sony Vlog Challenge
In conjunction with this announcement, Sony will introduce its second Vlog Challenge that encourages participants to create a vlog that highlights something they are excited and passionate about. The registration period is from July 27 to September 27, 2021, and the contest is open to video creators from Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela. Designed for video creators
Users can operate the new ZV-E10 camera with ease thanks to a comfortable grip and the large MOVIE button that is conveniently located on the top of the camera. When used with the GP-VPT2BT Wireless Remote Control Recording Grip (sold separately), it simplifies one-handed recording operations and provides easy access to the zoom, record start button, and customizable button.
A unique feature of the ZV-E10 camera is the zoom lever that can operate the optical zoom of electronic zoom lenses and the Clear Image Zoom function with both zoom lenses and fixed focal length lenses. With the Clear Image Zoom function, the user can zoom without losing resolution to maintain Full 4K quality. For added creative flexibility, the user can also choose from eight zoom speed settings.
The ZV-E10 camera is equipped with a high-performance battery with the capacity to record up to 125 minutes or 440 images, when fully charged, so that the user can film for long periods of time without any worries. The camera also operates via a USB Type-C© connector, preserving external battery life for outdoor recording.

Thanks to its internal 3-capsule directional microphone, it allows the ZV-E10 camera to record content with crystal-clear sound and clearly capture the speaker's voice, and the included wind shield greatly reduces wind noise. To enable more audio options, the ZV-E10 includes a digital audio interface via the Multi Interface (MI) shoe to take full advantage of the latest ECM-W2BT microphone and a microphone jack for connecting external devices such as the ECM-LV1. The addition of a headphone jack allows for precise monitoring of audio recordings.

Live broadcasts
The ZV-E10 can also be used as a webcam or camera for high-quality live streaming by simply connecting it to a PC or smartphone for greater streaming mobility without any additional software. Thus, the user can take advantage of the incredible image and audio quality of the ZV-E10 camera, as well as enjoy functions such as Face Priority AE and Soft Skin Effect when live streaming or making video calls. The ZV-E10 supports standards used for USB cameras such as UVC (USB Video Class) / UAC (USB Audio Class). User can also connect the ZV-E10 camera to a power source via USB cable during live streaming for longer usage time. For added convenience, the user can assign this feature to a custom button to start live streaming instantly.
Easy transfers and file data
With Sony's Imaging Edge Mobile app, users can transfer selected image and video files to a mobile device over a Wi-Fi connection. This also allows the user to transfer RAW image files.
