From the plant of its strategic partner, Visuar, located in the town of Cañuelas, Samsung dispatched the first truck with locally produced washing machines to Montevideo. With the aim of strengthening the industrial project in Argentina, Samsung and Visuar worked during the year to improve productivity and adapt the models currently manufactured to other markets in the region. This shipment, like the production of Bespoke, the first line of Premium refrigerators produced in the country and the renewal of the line of front washing machines with A+++ efficiency, is part of the company's strategy to strengthen the industrial project in Argentina and expand national production.
Visuar began distributing Samsung products in 2006. In 2013 it opened its washing machine plant in the Cañuelas Industrial Park and Samsung microwaves and vacuum cleaners were incorporated. In January 2016, the construction of the Distribution Center within the industrial complex was completed and at the end of that year, construction of the Samsung No Frost refrigerator plant began, inaugurated in September 2017.
Regarding this first export of washing machines, Gerardo Presman, Sr. Director of Operations and Commercial of Línea Blanca, expressed: "This white goods factory has global standards, as it has the necessary infrastructure and cutting-edge technology. This is an ambitious project that initially contemplates Uruguay, but does not rule out the possibility of including other countries as well as extending this to another product line."
“2023 is a very important year for us because we celebrate 10 years since the inauguration of the first industrial washing machine plant in Cañuelas,” said Alejandro Schvartz, president of Visuar. "In all these years we were able to triple the productive infrastructure, expanding to other categories of household appliances such as refrigerators, microwaves and vacuum cleaners. With this export project we validate and reaffirm our commitment to continue adding national value."
