Samsung: Great Final for Tomorrow 2024

With more than 4,600 participants, Samsung celebrated students committed to improving the world: I met the winners of the 11th edition of Solve for Tomorrow.

On Wednesday, November 27, the final of the 11th Edition of Solve For Tomorrow, the Samsung program that promotes the social commitment and creative talent of young people from Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay through the design of solutions that incorporate science, technology, mathematics and engineering. The proposal of Smart Bin, carried out by students of the Miguel Ángel Rodríguez de Asunción National College, consisted of an innovative solution that converts organic waste into biogas to generate electricity. The team was led by teacher Leticia Cuevas and composed of Joaquín Cantero Acosta, Emilia Soto Fernández, and Mónica Soto González.

For its part, the project of Skelet It was focused on the creation of a water purification coagulant based on fermented soybeans with milk kefir to address the growing worldwide water crisis, so it received a special mention. The Eest school group N ° 1 Ara General Belgrano Cruise of Bahía Blanca was made up of Josefina Hernández, Gianna Rugo, Agustín Ramírez and Valentina Canosa and were mentioned by the teacher Walter Acosta.

  • Mangoplast, of the Arambbe Educational Center of Ñemby: Ciro Alvarenga Martinez, Héctor German Rodríguez, Maricel Ferreira Frutos, Daniel Lezcano, Adriana Valdez (docent).
  • Sonicolor, of the Pedro Blanes Viale de Uruguay Higher Technical School: Lida Payque, Manuel Félix, Walter Reyes Ferreira, Matías Castroman, Jhonattan Barale (Teacher).

The event took place at the Metropolitan Design Center, where the jury in charge of the election of the winners was composed of Tomás Balmaceda, an Argentine philosopher specialized in technology; Gustavo Gallino, Uruguayan journalist specialized in technology; Desirée Jaimovich Argentine journalist specialized in technology and innovation; Julieta Schulkin, Argentine journalist and author specialized in technology and digital culture and Lucas Shin, president of Samsung Argentina.

The awards were presented by Lucas Shin, president of Samsung Argentina, and Tomás Cadelago, director of People Team at Samsung Electronics Argentina. The winners took a Samsung A54 cell phone for each student and member teacher, while the Soyakef group was awarded a Samsung Galaxy A8 tablet for the end in second place. This initiative offers a platform for young people involved with their communities to transform everyday problems through the application of Stem methodology and soft skill development.

For this edition of Solve for Tomorrow Samsung, it had Tekuaia as a technical ally in the execution of the program, which has been carried out since 2014 in Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay. In addition, it was supported by Koga, Socialab and the Association of Awareness and in total more than 1,147 projects were presented with the participation of more than 4,677 students and teachers of 185 schools and high schools with the aim of generating a positive impact on their respective communities.
