Newsan, the leading economic group in Argentina in the manufacture, import, marketing and distribution of consumer electronics and appliances, as well as one of the country's main fishing exporters and that recently incorporated a new unit of mass consumption through the acquisition of P&G in Argentina, presented its tenth sustainability report detailing the achievements and commitments of its 2024 management.

This report, prepared under international standards Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), highlights the successful transformation of the company in a challenging global context, consolidating its environmental, social and governance practices (ASG) in all its business units.

The 2024 sustainability report is a testimony of this transformation, highlighting milestones such as:

  • Strategic expansion: A fundamental step in 2024 was the creation of a new mass consumption business unit, based on the acquisition of P&G in Argentina. This incorporation represents Newsan's will to diversify his businesses and strengthen his presence in key segments of the industry, integrating recognized brands with the highest quality standards.
  • Innovation and digital transformation: Newsan consolidated its strategic plan “Renuevamente”, which integrates digital and cultural transformation initiatives of the business, promoting evolution and competitiveness in the short and medium term. The company has optimized processes and encouraged collaborative work through the implementation of AI in strategic tasks, such as product cataloging and the automation of digital audits.
  • Leadership in Sustainable Aquaculture: Newsan Food managed to position itself more strongly in the national and international market through the production of mussels and obtaining the BAP (Best Aquaculture Practices) certification for the aquaculture business. This international certification guarantees compliance with global standards in food safety, environmental responsibility, animal welfare and social commitment.
  • Commitment to the Circular Economy and Employability: Through Newsan IN, its triple impact business model that merges innovation, sustainability, social value and environmental management, 12,700 products have been reconditioned in 2024, adding more than 93,000 since its inception in 2016. It has more than 100 people working in Productive and Sales Units, of which 66% are women.
  • Wellbeing and Development of People: Newsan, being the main employer in the country's electronics industry with more than 9,000 people, implemented Qualtrics to manage its climate surveys, reducing the results processing time from 45 days to 24 hours. More than 110,000 hours of training were completed in 2024.
  • Environmental Care and Energy Efficiency: The Newsan Air Conditioning plant reached 99% recycling in 2024. The Villa Mercedes plant achieved that 100% of the waste generated in the production process is reused, recycled or treated efficiently, under the “Zero Manufacturing Waste to Landfill” model. In 2024, emissions derived from the transportation of inputs and finished products were reduced by 37% and electrical energy consumption was reduced by 22% compared to 2023. 18% of the energy consumed at the Villa Mercedes plant comes from renewable sources.
  • Promotion of the Knowledge Economy: The Newsan Mathematics Olympics had the participation of more than 1,000 primary and secondary level students in Tierra del Fuego. For more than 3 years, the Design and Development Laboratory has been promoting the growth and expansion of ARCHI: the first development board and open source platform designed in Argentina for students between 6 and 16 years old. This portable and programmable device allows young people to learn electronics, programming and robotics in a practical and interactive way, positioning itself as a unique educational project in Latin America and contributing to awakening vocations in technology, a key pillar for the country's development.

Marcela Cominelli, Senior Manager of Legal, Public Affairs and Sustainability at Newsan, states: "It is an immense pride to present our tenth Report, which reflects Newsan's deep and constant commitment to sustainability. This document not only demonstrates the learnings, achievements and challenges of our 2024 management, but also highlights how our long-term vision and strategic decisions have consistently expanded our positive impact, projecting us towards an increasingly sustainable future."

Newsan invites all its stakeholders to join this collective effort for a more prosperous, innovative and sustainable future.
