The speed of a smartphone is determined by the power of the processor and RAM, which manages the resources of the operating system and the apps we use. The more RAM, the faster the speed.
But, unlike what happens with a computer, smartphones do not allow you to improve the physical components to obtain better performance. The solution is virtual RAM, which consists of borrowing space from the internal storage to use as RAM when necessary.
"RAM memory is something that people are increasingly looking for to improve the performance of their smartphones. The possibility of expanding it using the phone's internal storage is a function implemented from the operating system by our development team that can be optionally activated or deactivated at any time," explained Pablo Brancone, product manager at Motorola Argentina, a company that began offering virtual RAM in several of its devices to help make the mobile phone faster and open more apps at the same time.
The Motorola cell phones compatible with this function and available in Argentina are the moto g100 (8 GB expandable to 10 GB of RAM); motorola edge 20 lite (6 GB and capacity for 7.5 GB with virtual RAM) and the motorola edge 20 pro, which includes 12 GB RAM from the factory and the capacity to increase it to 15 GB with virtual RAM.
You just need to enter Settings / System / Performance / RAM Extension and activate the function. When doing so, the device must be rebooted.
