Among the exhaustive prevention measures that are being taken in pursuit of the health and well-being of all Argentines, prevention at home today takes a leading role.

LG is no stranger to this situation and through its line of appliances with Inverter technology and the latest generation, it contributes to home hygiene. Its advanced products allow you to eliminate bacteria and germs and carry out a correct wash.

Technology available for the elimination of bacteria

LG washing machines that feature Steam™ technology, steam technology, manage to penetrate deeply into fabrics, eliminating 99% of allergens, such as dust mites that can cause allergies or respiratory problems (*).

LG True Steam is a technology that produces boiling water vapor (water at 100°C). It has excellent deodorization performance and sterilization power. The principle is simple: when high-temperature steam is sprayed on fabrics, the fine steam particles react on harmful bacteria and odor components. Later, when the water evaporates, harmful substances are also removed.

The World Health Organization recommends machine cleaning soiled bedding and towels from COVID-19 patients with hot water (60-90°C) and laundry detergent.

LG washing machines with True Steam™ technology allow washing at temperatures between 60° C and 65° C. That is why increasing the temperature and humidity with this technology would directly affect the survival of this type of virus.

This unmatched ability of LG's steam technology to disinfect and deodorize is the differential value that the brand's home appliance products can provide to society.

In addition, LG has a program called “Clean/Sanitize clothes with steam”, meaning that when you return from a simple outing you can sanitize your clothes with Steam technology. Using only steam, bacteria and bad odors are eliminated, washing with water and wear and tear of clothing are avoided.

On the other hand, those washing machines that have the program called “Drum Cleaning” also have the possibility of eliminating scale, mold, fungi and bacteria that remain impregnated inside, through a special high-temperature wash.

Tips to keep clothes clean and disinfected

Separate the clothes by:

-Dirt level: separate clothes that are very dirty from those that are not so dirty, those that were used to leave the house and those that were used to be inside.

-Size: it is advisable to mix different sizes of clothing to allow better mobility of the garments inside the washing machine.

-Color: wash all white clothes separately, pastel colors together and dark and strong colors in another load.
Choose the right soap to wash clothes and use more for those clothes that require it.

If the clothing was used to go to work or we think it may be contaminated, a special disinfectant product can be applied during washing, such as laundry bleach. One cup for each cycle is enough.
Use more detergent than usual (if it is concentrated, better) to better remove dirt and eliminate any residue that may cause contamination.

Choose the correct wash cycle.
For large loads it is advisable to select long washing cycles to
ensure uniform cleaning of all clothing, for medium loads it is
It is preferable to choose a shorter wash cycle.
For clothes that are worn when leaving home, it is recommended to use a lot of water in each wash, more than usual, and also wash a few items so that the clothes can have more space and shake.
If someone is sick in the house, that person's clothing should be
washed individually and at least 60°C.
And if the washing machine has a built-in dryer, drying at high
temperature will also help complete the disinfection process.
Washing clothes with hot water makes the process of loosening stains and removing dirt more effective, as it helps the soap to dissolve more easily and penetrate the fabrics more effectively. This also ensures a much more hygienic wash and protects clothes from fungi and bacteria.
In this way, LG's next-generation washing machines help to quickly eliminate certain germs and bacteria, helping consumers and their families live in a safer and more hygienic way.
