Starting next Monday, the implementation of the Now 30 Program will begin. It happens that the Government managed to close the agreement with the banks so that people have the possibility of purchasing in 30 installments with the credit card. The plan would be focused on the purchase of “white goods” products, such as kitchens, refrigerators, washing machines and dishwashers.
According to what was reported, the banks demanded a series of requirements to be able to offer this tool that were finally accepted by the State. In that sense, they were allowed to increase rates, which will go from the current 25% to 29% annually in pesos specifically for this plan.
To stimulate consumption, the government extends Now 12 until July 31
Likewise, there was an increase in the “franchise” received by entities that allocate more resources to the Ahora 12 plan. In fact, this week, the Central Bank sanctioned a regulation that extends from 6% to 8% the quota that banks can dedicate to this program with benefits in reserve requirements, that is, the part of the deposits that banks must deposit in the BCRA as collateral. In this way, those who lend the most will be able to have greater liquidity to buy Leliq at 37% per year with part of the minimum cash.
On the other hand, this Saturday the Now 12 Program expires, so, in the next few hours, the “fine print” of the new plan will be known. For example, some sectors had been talking to extend the number of quotas, as in the case of textiles, which sought to go from 6 to 12. However, the Government was not convinced to promote it given the sharp increase in prices that was observed in both clothing and footwear. One of the items most resisted by companies is cell phones, which would not be included, although officials are still negotiating to include some model in the Now 12 plan.
