Gilera, one of the most representative brands in the Argentine motorcycle sector, commemorates more than 70 years of history with an event that marks a turning point in its career. The celebration includes the presentation of 12 renewed models and coincides with the culmination of an ambitious project to modernize and expand its plant in Carlos Spegazzini, a historic investment of 18 million dollars that reinforces its commitment to the country. This milestone was shared with dealers and suppliers, strategic allies of Gilera Motors Argentina, whose continued support is essential for the growth and constant improvement of the value proposition for users. The strong relationship with the dealer network, a key asset for the company, drives a future of shared success and sustainable development.

Since its arrival in 1953, Gilera has been part of the growth of motorcycle vehicles in Argentina, adapting to the needs of the market and accompanying Argentines in their daily lives. Today, the brand consolidates its leadership with updated products and a more efficient, technological and sustainable production process.

"This year we not only celebrate our history, but we reaffirm our vision for the future. The modernization of our plant positions us at the forefront of the local industry, with more advanced and sustainable processes that reflect our commitment to quality, innovation and the development of the national industry," dstaked Ramiro Di Liscia, Director of Gilera Motors Argentina

A renovated plant for a sustainable future

The historic Carlos Spegazzini plant has completed the final phase of an $18 million investment project aimed at doubling its production capacity and optimizing its processes. This project includes the incorporation of cutting-edge technology typical of the automotive industry, such as collaborative robotics, artificial intelligence, advanced automation and Industry 4.0 infrastructure.

Furthermore, in line with Gilera's commitment to sustainability, the plant has solar panels capable of supplying 100% of its electrical consumption, positioning itself as a benchmark in the integration of renewable energies in the local industry.

“The modernization of our plant is not only an investment in infrastructure, it is an investment in the future of the Argentine industry and in our ability to continue offering accessible and reliable products to motorcyclists throughout the country,” added Di Liscia.

12 renewed models: more style and functionality

The event was the setting for the presentation of 12 renewed models, which reflect the transformation of the brand and the purpose that has been set: “evolve to improve and make a difference in the daily lives of Argentine motorcyclists.” The new developments in its line-up can be grouped into the following categories:

  • MOTORIZATION: update of displacements and powers.

  • SECURITY:
    • CBS brake system
    • Front and rear disc brakes
    • Lighting with LED technology

  • IDENTITY: new look & feel throughout its portfolio, with renewed graphics and color palettes as well as details in the application of logos.

  • COMFORT:

    • USB port to charge cell phone during the day while on the move
    • Seats with optimized ergonomics and premium materials.

SMASH FULL, THE PROTAGONIST OF THE AVANT PREMIERE (AND THE PORTFOLIO)

Among the main novelties of the new Gilera line up The SMASH FULL model stands out as it presents a completely redesigned front, which now sports totally new optics, turns and DRL.

It incorporates Full LED lighting that ensures greater visibility and safety in any condition, while the CBS (Combined Brake System) brake system together with the front and rear brake discs provide precise and reliable control on every journey. Its new analogue-digital display combines elegance with functionality, allowing relevant information to be visible at all times: outside temperature, fuel level, odometer, gear indicator and speedometer. The engine is presented in titanium gray and the seat stands out for its design and materiality, enhancing the entire set.

“The restyling process of our entire portfolio not only improves our products, but also strengthens the bond with our customers and distributors, who are fundamental to the success of our brand” affirmed Javier Soriano, CEO of Gilera Motors Argentina.

Local production with national impact

Gilera reaffirms its commitment to national production: 100% of the models it sells are produced at its Carlos Spegazzini plant and incorporates nationally manufactured components. This approach not only generates direct and indirect employment, but also strengthens the industry value chain in Argentina.

“Each Gilera motorcycle is the result of the joint work of our teams, suppliers and dealer network, a network that has been key to maintaining our leadership position for more than seven decades,” Soriano concluded.

A legacy that looks to the future

With its renovated plant and the launch of its updated models, Gilera enters a new stage in its history. This event not only celebrates the brand's legacy, but also marks the beginning of a future driven by innovation, sustainability and passion for motor vehicles.
