What role does the Fintech industry in Argentina have today? How do digital wallets and BNPL solutions impact on the shopping experience of Argentine consumers?
The Fintech industry is today a true engine of financial transformation and inclusion in Argentina. Thanks to the advancement of technological solutions, 99.3% of the adult population has a bank or payment account (CBU or CVU), which guarantees a level of access that some years ago seemed unthinkable. However, only about 39% of the population has access to formal credit, which shows a huge growth opportunity. We are facing a very promising scenario so that more and more financial services flow on these already consolidated channels, allowing more Argentines to take advantage of the benefits of digitalization.
In this context, digital wallets and BNPL solutions (buy now, pay later) have been revolutionizing the purchase experience. They facilitate instant payments, safe and comfortable, in addition to offering flexible financing alternatives, which strengthens consumption and gives greater predictability to personal finances.
What role do Fintech solutions play in electronic commerce growth?
Fintech solutions are a key lever for the sustained growth of electronic commerce in Argentina. Payment platforms, digital wallets and immediate financing options have eliminated barriers that previously limited trade digitalization. Today, any entrepreneur or small trade can sell online and receive payments quickly and safely, something that a few years ago seemed reserved only to great players. This democratization of payment tools has enhanced the digital ecosystem, generating confidence in consumers and merchants. As a result, e-commerce not only grows, but is consolidated as a fundamental channel for the country's economic development.
What are the most relevant Fintech trends that could transform the retail sector into Argentina in the coming years?
We are going through a moment of continuous innovation, and The retail sector is at the center of that transformation. There are three trends that we believe will mark the way in the coming years. The Invisible payments and frictionless experiences, from systems that allow us to pay without going through boxes to payments with a single click on the e-commerce, these solutions eliminate friction and speed up purchases, improving customer experience. Another is the Open Finance, the opening and portability of financial data will allow shops to know their customers better, customize offers and offer financing adapted to the real needs of each consumer. And finally we can mention the BNPL and Integrated Credit, financing options at the point of sale, both physical and digital, will continue to gain prominence. These solutions provide access to credit on the spot and allow shops to increase the average ticket and loyalty customers.
All these innovations not only facilitate the lives of consumers, but also generate new growth opportunities for retail trade.
Fintech are allowing retail trade to improve the experience they provide to their clients. In this sense, how can retail companies take advantage of the data generated by Fintech platforms to improve their product offer?
The power of the data is today one of the most valuable tools for the backers. Fintech platforms generate real -time transactional information that allows us to better understand consumption habits, optimize inventories and offer more precise and attractive promotions. In addition, this integration allows the creation of more effective loyalty programs and Scoringg systems that open the door to credit for more customers.
The combination of intelligent data and technology allows companies to adapt quickly to consumer needs and enhance their sales, building more solid and durable relationships with their customers.
Fintechs and Retailers are part of the same ecosystem, do you consider that there is greater potential for competition or for collaboration between the parties?
The future is undoubtedly collaborative. Fintechs and retailers are demonstrating that, working together, extraordinary results can be achieved. Both share the objective of improving customer experience and, by integrating their services, generate synergies that benefit all: shops increase their sales and loyalty customers, while Fintech expand their scope and deepen their value proposition.
While there may be competition in certain niches, the largest potential is in complementarity. Today we are seeing very inspiring cases of alliances between both sectors, which show that when technology, data and market knowledge are combined, a world of possibilities opens to continue promoting the Argentine economy.
