Walmart appointed Gonzalo Gebara as the new Chief Administration Officer (CAO).
The new executive will have the responsibility of leading several key areas of the company with a view to developing synergies and efficiency between various business units in Argentina and Chile, within the framework of the process of accelerated business transformation in the country.
With a marked global profile, Gebara joined Walmart Argentina in 2000 with successive responsibilities in the Finance, Strategy and Commercial teams.
In 2004 he moved to Bentonville (Arkansas, USA) where he assumed the position of Senior Director of International Integration. From that position, he managed the integration processes in Brazil, Central America, Japan and China.
In 2009 he led the integration between D&S and Walmart in Chile. A year later he settled in the aforementioned trans-Andean country when he was appointed Manager of the Líder hypermarket format.
In 2013, he assumed the position of Vice President of Operations at Walmart Chile, with responsibilities for store operations, logistics and eCommerce. Three years later he was appointed Commercial Vice President, leading all the commercial and agro-industrial divisions of Walmart Chile, a position he held until today and from where he promoted a strong digital transformation process of the commercial team.
Gebara is 43 years old, married, with 3 children, and has a degree in Business Administration from the Catholic University of Argentina in Buenos Aires and a Harvard Alumni.
