How to drive better and more relaxed

At CES 2023, Samsung Electronics introduced Ready Care, its latest vehicle innovation developed together with HARMAN. It connects the driver's personal experiences and the driving environment and the vehicle can activate personalized interventions through functions according to the driver's changes. Also on the program is Ready Tune, HARMAN's new car audio technology built on the company's premium audio performance.

Ready Care allows a vehicle to recognize the physical and emotional condition of its driver and modify the car's functionality thanks to resources such as its Cognitive Load measurement technology and Stress-Free Routes.

The Cognitive Load measurement detects the driver's condition through his facial expression, gaze or the way he opens his eyelids. The key functionality is that once the driver's condition has been thoroughly assessed, functions and steps customized to the situation can be applied.

To give a stressed driver the smoothest route home, the Stress-Free Routes feature leverages the driver's wearable device to detect their heart rate and provide alternative routes if the current route includes stressful scenarios such as traffic jams and weather-related issues.

SmartThings connectivity between the driver's car and home remotely sets their devices to Relaxing mode, managing their TV, air purifier, lighting and more and allows the driver to relax knowing their home is ready and waiting for them.

Sustainable living at the next level

Samsung Electronics announced news for a new era in sustainable living. With services like SmartThings Energy, which sets new standards for home efficiency, Samsung's latest Bespoke appliances allow users to save energy and money. Along with technologies including a new wash cycle and filter that significantly reduce microplastic emissions from washing machines, the company's latest advancements make it easier than ever for consumers to reduce their impact on the environment and support the health of the planet.

With more than 80 million connected devices, the SmartThings platform continues to expand while offering more ways for users to reduce their carbon footprint at home.

SmartThings Energy's AI Energy Mode offers support for more devices and regions and even more significant energy savings. This includes up to 15% more savings for compatible refrigerators, up to 20% for compatible air conditioners, and up to 35% for compatible washing machines on select cycles.

Samsung's efforts to enrich and expand SmartThings Energy led the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to grant it the industry's first mass-market Smart Home Energy Management Systems (SHEMS) certification. The certification recognizes smart appliances and services that manage and automate connected devices to help consumers.

The EPA also awarded 260 ENERGY STAR certifications to base model Samsung appliances, including 43 “Most Efficient” awards[7]. Samsung is a long-standing leader with more than a decade of ENERGY STAR award leadership and an exceptional winner of the prestigious ENERGY STAR Corporate Commitment Award.
