The milestones of a great project by Daniel Varacalli Costas
“In its forty years of experience, the Bach Academy has not been only an organizing concert entity aimed at spreading the work of the Kantor de Leipzig in Buenos Aires. That would have achieved to fulfill a high cultural and social goal, but the Bach Academy is undoubtedly much more. The figure of its creator and artistic mentor, Mario Videla, has been until today the epicenter of a vast project in which the relationship is essential. Because this teacher has managed to incorporate a pedagogical dimension to each meeting, with his didactic comments and even with the frequent invitation to the public to participate with his own voice, bringing him closer to music in a living and direct way The uniqueness with which Mario Videla knew how to provide his project, which gives him identity and has been sustaining him in time.
On this basis, one could highlight, from the personal, those milestones that, from the artistic, have hierarchized a forty -year trajectory that was, at the same time that a rich and careful work space for Argentine artists, a balcony to everyone in what Bach and its contemporaries concern.
The two activities led by Helmuth Rilling for the Bach Academy, in 1985 and 1996, are the pivots around which a whole series of intense and uninterrupted annual seasons were legitimized around the music of which Mario Videla is an unavoidable reference in our country. From there many indelible memories are deployed: Gustav Leonhardt's visit in 1987, that of the Kuijken brothers in 1998, that of Robert Levin in 2007, the contributions of Manfredo Zimmermann and Wilbert Hazelzet in the field of the flute. Some anniversaries are also treasured in memory: the 250 years of Bach's death in 2000, with the Dresden Choir and Georg Christoph Rademann, as well as the talk about Bach's personal Bible by Master Videla; In 2003 the 20th anniversary of the Bach Academy with the Magnificat in Colón, in 2014, the last concert of musical festivals with the Mass in itself; Two years later, the reconstruction of passion according to San Marcos. Further back in time, the original proposals around the little chronicle of Anna Magdalena Bach, with María Rosa Gallo as a narrator, and in 1992, the echoes of the year of Mozart and the V anniversary of the European discovery of America, with Aleandro Norma in similar paper.
There are so many edges to emphasize that all evocation is naturally incomplete. The essential thing is that the Bach Academy is a living project, which has known
“We believe that the greatest achievement, both individual and collective, is to contribute to the common good of society and be faithful to the responsibilities that we have to assume. As a company we firmly believe that they are in creating added values for society, improving the quality of life of our consumers, creating and maintain Humanity. to continue them in view of the future, ”said Dante Choi, founder of Goldmund SA.
