The brand presents basic tips to extend the useful life of kitchen tools and improve their performance

One of the points to take into account to extend the life of pans and small kitchen appliances, is to clean them regularly, following the different care recommended for each particular item, in addition to taking certain precautions when using them for cooking.

When it comes to objects of intensive and daily use, if they are not cleaned correctly, they end up staining or eroding, often without a solution. From the coffee maker to the blender, with a daily review, the accumulation of dirt is avoided and proper functioning is ensured.

Moulinex and Tefal Argentina list some tips to keep your everyday kitchen supplies in good condition.

How to care for the non-stick pan?

Non-stick pans allow meals to be healthier since fewer fatty materials are used in the preparations and prevent food from sticking, maintaining neat, uniform cooking. In order for the material to be preserved and continue to fulfill its function, it is necessary to take certain precautions before the first use of the pan and then in the daily routine in the kitchen.

Before first use:

  • Wash the pan with detergent and warm water.
  • Dry with cloth or absorbent paper.
  • Coat the pan with oil
  • Minimum fire for 2 minutes
  • let cool
  • Wash and dry again

daily use

  • Only use wooden or silicone utensils
  • Avoid cutting elements on the surface
  • Prevent the flame from hitting the side
  • Do not leave the empty pan on the fire
  • Let cool before washing

Season and clean cast iron pots and pans:

Many choose cast iron pots and pans for their ability to retain heat and preserve the moisture and flavor of foods.

What many don't know is that to prevent rust and food from sticking, they must be cured before first use.

With these steps, cast iron pots and pans will remain clean and last for years without rusting.

Healing:

  • Wash the pan with hot water and neutral soap. Dry well
  • Apply a thin layer of oil covering the entire pan (inside and out). Remove excess with a paper napkin
  • Place the pan in the oven at 180º for 20 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven, let cool and repeat the process two or three times.
  • Wash again with neutral soap and hot water.
  • Dry completely to prevent moisture from rusting it.
  • Finally, wipe the inside with a napkin soaked with a few drops of oil (this will help dry).

Tips for washing:

  • Place under hot water to remove food residue with a soft sponge.
  • Never use metal or plastic objects.
  • Never wash with abrasive cleaners or sponges that could scratch the surface. It is recommended to use neutral soap.
  • Dry with an absorbent cloth, making sure it is dry to avoid oxidation.
  • Tip for perfect drying: place it on the heat for a few minutes

Cleaning and descaling the electric kettle

Why are these two points important? So that the taste of the water remains neutral and the kettle works correctly. The Moulinex Argentina team recommends the following cleaning and descaling methods.

Cleaning

  • Always clean the outside when it is cold, with a damp cloth.
  • As for the filter, remove it from the kettle and clean it with tap water. If it is very dirty, use a brush, passing it gently.

Descaling

Option 1: Use descaler

  • Pour descaler and water into the kettle.
  • Heat the water 2 times
  • Rinse with cold water

Option 2: Use alcohol vinegar

  • Fill the kettle with ½ liter of vinegar
  • Let it act cold
  • Fill with water, rinse and empty. Repeat 4 or 5 times

Option 3: with citric acid

  • Place 500 ml. of water inside the kettle
  • Add 1 cut lemon
  • Boil the water
  • Leave it on for 15 minutes
  • Empty and rinse. Repeat 4 or 5 times

Clean the sandwich maker without grating it

With this type of products, you must be very careful not to scratch when cleaning. The interior plates of the Moulinex Ultracompact sandwich maker, for example, have non-stick plates that prevent sandwiches from sticking. If it is rubbed very roughly with a cloth or with a sharp object, the non-stick material begins to ruin, thus ceasing to fulfill its main function.

Cleaning:

  • Unplug the device
  • Use a wooden spatula to remove any stuck-on food remains.
  • Wipe with kitchen paper to remove traces of grease.
  • Go over with a sponge soaked and wrung in soap and water.
  • Rinse with a damp cloth
  • Dry well before storing it.
