The serious economic crisis caused the closure of the historic appliance companies, Lucaioli and Saturn Hogar, in Neuquén and in all branches of the country.

The measure was communicated this Friday to its employees and governs this Saturday. As the workers indicated, the communication was "informal", through a teleconference with all branches, and were not officially notified.

"The notification was that they suspended all employees with salaries, in the case of Neuquén, until new notice," said José Abadía, Lucaioli's local delegate, in conversation with LM Neuquén.

The condition of "suspended", however, is uncertain for workers: all they know is that they don't have to go to work. In addition, they were informed that the March salary will charge it "between April and May."

"The suspension figure means that workers do not have the obligation to provide tasks, do not talk about the guarantee of payers," said the union secretary of the Trade Employees Center (CEC), Ramón Fernández.

The company had already been expressing economic problems since the employees charged “in installments” and since February they did not pay compensation for the workers dismissed in 2017. “The payment schedules were very long, up to four installments. That was happening eight months ago,” said Abadía.

The Bahiense firm Humberto Lucaioli has 58 years of experience and has almost 500 employees throughout the country. The notification to the workers was this Friday through a simultaneous videoconference with all branches.

In Neuquén they are distributed in Cutral CO, Centenario, Plottier, Neuquén and Rincón de los Sauces, while in Río Negro there are premises of Saturn and Lucaioli in Viedma, Cipolletti, Choele Choel and General Roca.

In Neuquén, the workers will meet at the Assembly with the Trade Employees Center (CEC) next Monday at 10.

Fernández confirmed to LM Neuquén that they took intervention on the subject this Friday at noon and this morning they held a meeting at the Undersecretariat of Labor. As he said, the company had presented in January a “crisis preventive” that was not accepted.
