The work carried out includes both building remodeling and layout improvements. The transformation includes complete painting, including parking lots, new signage in general, 100% LED lighting and cold furniture.
In terms of technology, investments were made in the line of self-checkout boxes, also the e-commerce site and in the Jumbo+ app so that Jumbo's e-commerce channel accompanies the renovation of the physical store, following the company's premise of providing quality services and experiences to an omnichannel customer.
Under the premise of offering an increasingly sustainable and environmentally friendly space, the renovation plan included energy savings for cold food: doors were installed in the display refrigerators, which were originally open, and the refrigerants and lubricants in their refrigeration equipment were replaced.
Following the sustainable line, the sales room began to use LED lighting with the aim of achieving greater energy savings.
Likewise, the Viví Saludable space was renewed, Jumbo's 360° program that promotes healthy eating and general well-being through different products that accompany the nutritional choices or needs of each consumer; to which were added environmentally friendly categories in food, cleaning products and cosmetics.
Alejandro Arruiz, General Manager of Cencosud Supermarkets, commented at the time of the reopening: "We are very grateful to our entire team of collaborators for the effort they made to make this renovation possible; it was a challenge to remodel with open doors and, at the same time, provide a quality and excellent service that characterizes us."
