The new era of home entertainment comes to life in the first annual edition of HomePage News InSight Trend Index, a digital portfolio that was recently published in HomePageNews.com, a service of the International Housewares Association (IHA). InSight —which is in its third year— focuses on the main lifestyle trends that will drive demand for home and kitchen products in the next year and in the medium term.
InSight analyzes both emerging and established trends, integrating products, data and expert insights into a comprehensive quarterly report that offers concrete guidelines for decision making. Featured products come from the world's leading trade shows and reflect market signals and consumer habits that influence consumer choices for the home today.
“In its third year, InSight is more consumer-focused and takes a narrative approach to introduce new products across multiple categories and features that represent key trends.”", points out Peter Giannetti, editor-in-chief of HomePage News. “The new edition also incorporates a comprehensive look at the market data that validates these trends, with exclusive analysis from HomePage News and its parent company, the IHA.”
Readers will also find analysis of specialists of the home industry and bazaars, which provide diverse views on retail, product design, color, social networks, market data and consumer behavior.
The new era of home entertainment
The first portfolio—corresponding to the Fall/Winter 2025/26 edition—explores how home entertainment is transforming today and features key products capable of inspiring meaningful, memorable and shareable moments.
“The modern host no longer pursues perfection; he seeks to create spaces of connection”, states the introduction of the report. “We are entering an era of intentional entertaining, where simplicity takes on new style and meaning, while elevating the experience of both the host and their guests.”.
InSight looks at how ways of receiving, gathering and bonding are evolving, driven by four key aspirations that span generations:
-
Quality over quantity: Hosts prioritize personal, meaningful experiences for smaller groups of close friends and family.
-
Authenticity and intent: the focus is on genuine exchange, rather than material display.
-
Shared experiences: Guests are invited to participate in activities and conversations that strengthen the bond, such as cooking together, doing creative projects, or simply sharing a heart-to-heart chat.
-
Real presence: the host can be truly present and enjoy his guests without needing to “act” or seek perfection.
“In this new approach, hospitality is not about dazzling with an impeccable setting, but about creating an environment to share and interact”, he explains Tom Mirabile, senior curator and author of the InSight Trend Index, as well as founder of Springboard Futures. “Designing with climate, story, and experience in mind is increasingly important, but so is the concept of ‘sharing.’ This new perspective understands receiving as an opportunity to truly share our space, our time, and our attention.”
The comprehensive portfolio includes the importance of both the functional elements as well as those that generate well-being; examples of gatherings aligned with these trends, such as game nights; predominant design styles such as post-minimalism and neo-traditionalism; and a wide selection of products that materialize these aspirations.
He InSight Trend Index is produced quarterly by HomePage News in alliance with consumer trends analyst Tom Mirabile, along with his team of Springboard Futures, and creative director Dawn Evans.
