According to Gartner, global smartphone sales fell 5% in the fourth quarter of 2020 and 12.5% ​​for the year as a whole. Apple became the main supplier of the 4Q and second in the year.
Samsung had a year-on-year drop of 14.6%, but still maintained first place in the global smartphone market with 253 million units. Among the top five smartphone suppliers last year 2020, Apple and Xiaomi were the only ones that grew, while the biggest drop was that of Huawei (24.1%), which caused it to lose second place.
