Electrolux Food Foundation arrived in Argentina

The organization aims to address global food security challenges, and promote and inspire sustainable cooking and food habits, including consumers and industry professionals.

A few months ago it began operating in Argentina Electrolux Food Foundation, an independent non -profit organization founded by Electrolux Group in 2016, which seeks to boost a positive change in the communities where the company operates. In that sense, Electrolux Food Foundation Its objective is to address global food security challenges, and promote and inspire sustainable cooking and food habits, including consumers and industry professionals.

For this, it focuses on three fundamental pillars:

Reduction of food waste: Projects are created in all places where the company is to reduce food waste at all stages of the supply chain, from production to the final consumer.

Food Education: Educational programs are carried out to promote healthy and sustainable eating in disadvantaged communities. As well as in educational institutions to inspire new generations.

Access to food: It is collaborated with local organizations through donations to improve access to nutritious and safe foods.

In line with the three pillars mentioned above, in Argentina the Foundation began working on two specific programs:

On the one hand, Like a chef, a work training project oriented to needy people where culinary skills are provided to help them build a new professional career. It is an intensive 8 -week course issued by professional chefs that teach with the zero food waste approach. Since its implementation in different countries of the world until today, more than 1200 people have graduated worldwide.

On the other side is Food Heroes, A program that seeks to inspire children about the importance of sustainable food. It consists of workshops and talks where the little ones are taught to discover the “super powers” ​​necessary to choose the best foods and contribute to a healthier planet. This program has already participated more than 110,000 children worldwide.
