Electrolux among the 100 most sustainable companies in the world

The data comes from a Ranking carried out by Time Magazine and Statista, in which more than 500 companies participated.

Electrolux, a Swedish home appliance brand, was recognized as one of the most sustainable companies in the world in 2024. LThe company reached position 89 on a list of 500 companies selected by Time magazine in collaboration with the Statista data firm.

This ranking included the evaluation of different companies from 30 countries where It took into account factors such as income, market capitalization and public relevance. The methodology for selecting the winners was based on the measurement of more than 20 indicators such as external sustainability commitments and ratings, such as the CDP, the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook.

TIME and Statista required companies to comply with ahigh standards regarding their Scope 1 and 2 emissions and energy consumption in relation to the size of the company, the emissions reductions in 2021 and 2022, the proportion of renewable energy used by
company operations, among others.

"This award demonstrates the seriousness and commitment of Electrolux in the search for more responsible businesses in all the regions where it operates, including Latin America. Our philosophy drives us to believe that it is possible to grow as a company and at the same time take care of the planet that we all share", commented J.oão Zeni, Director of Sustainability for Latin America at Electrolux.

Likewise, within the ranking, sustainability and transparency reports were evaluated based on international standards such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD). In addition, achievements in metrics such as emissions reduction, energy efficiency, employee turnover and gender equality were taken into account.

By 2023, Electrolux will ensure that 60% of the energy used in its operations comes from renewable sources. On the other hand, it integrated recycled materials in the production of its appliances, ensuring that one of its ranges of vacuum cleaners has 49% recycled plastic. It also replaced high-impact greenhouse gases from 97% of products containing refrigerants.
