As revealed by eMarketer, in 2022 China will continue to be the most penetrated e-commerce market in the world with 46.3% of the country's retail sales made online. The next two spots are taken by the United Kingdom and South Korea, where e-commerce orders account for 36.3% and 32.2% of retail purchases, respectively.

In absolute dollar amounts, China will dwarf the next two markets with e-commerce of nearly $3 trillion. The United Kingdom will register around 246 billion and South Korea, 143 billion. The United States alone will compete with China with more than 1 trillion in online orders, but that will represent only 16.1% of total retail sales and places its online commerce in seventh place.

The Top Ten revealed by eMarketer is as follows:

South Korea 32.2%

Denmark 20.2%

Indonesia 20,2%

Norway 19.4%

United States 16.1%

Finland 14.6%

Sweden 14.1%
