SME financing grew 13.2% year-on-year in the first five months of 2022

In the first five months of the year it accumulated an improvement of 13.2% year-on-year. SME participation in total financing to the private sector continues to advance.

According to the report of the Department of Economic Studies of the Argentine Confederation of Medium Enterprises (CAME), prepared from data published by the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA) and the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INDEC), during May SME credit grew in real terms in the interannual comparison (17.1%) and also advanced in relation to the previous month (1.6%).

In this way, in the first five months of the year it accumulated an improvement of 13.2% year-on-year. SME participation in total financing to the private sector continues to advance. In May it was 24.7%, it grew 4.2 points compared to the same month in 2021.

Discounting the effect of inflation, the amounts traded in current account advances grew 25.5% year-on-year, while it was 34% year-on-year in the case of document discounts.

The interest rates of SME instruments maintained the upward trend: in current account advances there was an increase of 1.3 points compared to May and 6.9 points since December; while in discounted documents the increases reached 3.1 points and 10.3 points compared to the last month of 2021.
