The post-pandemic world will bring substantial changes in the way we relate, work, travel and live. What will be the new ways of behaving in the world to come?

The Covid-19 virus represents an unprecedented challenge for Argentines. As government announcements continued, lifestyle changes changed to adapt to these changes. Likewise, many will incorporate these new habits, not only post-isolation, but also post-coronavirus and will possibly begin to lead a different life than the one known until now.

In line with this context added to the need for social distancing, one of the most notable changes will be the way we travel and how public transportation is used, which will possibly undergo changes for a long time and will show us new realities and ways of traveling. If we take into account that eight million people move by public transport every day in Buenos Aires, this critical mass will definitely have a direct effect on how to use the train or bus or even more, directly debate whether to use them or not, due to the concentration of people that they entail. According to a recently published Kantar study, 68% of Argentines changed or will change the way they get around and avoided and will avoid public transportation, starting with the pandemic.

Given this new forecast that is presented, we Argentines are going to have to start being creative and think of ideas to move around the city, Greater Buenos Aires or even in the provinces in the interior of the country. For those who have no other option than public transport, it is advisable to avoid peak hours or try not to take trains or buses that concentrate many passengers. For those with short trips, you could choose to walk or bike; For longer trips and not resorting to public transportation, the options may be to use a car or motorcycle, if these means are available, but which until now were avoided to save costs. Another alternative, which in recent times has been installed without knowing what fate has in store for us, is the electric skateboard, which can become a solution to many of the problems that this situation presents to us, providing certain functionalities that respond to the imposed needs.

The use of this means of transportation can be essential to accompany changes in mobility during and after isolation, especially when it is a fact that there will be a need to move and transfer safely. The electric skateboard represents a means of transportation that has characteristics that adapt to the reality we live in:

  • It allows you to travel individually, without the need to be in contact or together with other people.
  • As it can be transported easily, it can be used in combination with other means of transport, if necessary, thus avoiding using
  • It is easy to clean and maintain.
  • It allows you to get to any point quickly and at lower costs than a car or motorcycle.
  • They are cheaper compared to other transportation; A bicycle or a car contemplates higher prices and costs.
  • With the autonomy they provide, you can drive for a whole day, if you make short trips.
  • If we take into account the positive changes at the environmental level as a result of global isolation, it is an ecologically friendly transport that accompanies this trend. It does not generate gas emissions into the atmosphere. It only consumes electrical energy. They are silent and help avoid noise pollution.
  • No prior skills required to handle it
  • It saves time, not only because of its speed, but because it can be easily stored or parked.

Like this, there are many more aspects of life that will be modified and for which it will be important to find solutions that help the quality of life that we will need. The decisions and customs that we thought were incorporated as something natural suddenly began to change and possibly more and more people are taking advantage of these circumstances to voluntarily incorporate more conscious, healthy, safe and sustainable habits into their routines. In this extraordinary moment, we have the opportunity to transform behaviors in our daily lives as well as take advantage to improve everyone's lives.
