From pioneer series such as Astroboy or Meteoro, through Dragon Ball and Pokemon or Evangelion, Argentina is a country with a huge "anime culture", to the point that different generations of fans of these series and animated films accumulate.
Within its many special lines of limited edition, Casio has given the anime a great space throughout its history. In early 2020, the company launched the model for the 25th anniversary of its Baby-G line and did so with a model inspired by Pokemon, the animated series and also a video game that accumulates fans around the world.
Recently, Casio also announced the arrival of another special model, a limited version of the G-Shock DW 6900 dedicated to Neon Genesis Evangelion, one of the series and anime movies that has conquered the world since its launch in 1995, and that continues to enjoy high popularity since it is available on streaming platforms.
The design of this model stands out for presenting the classic colors of the “Eva-01”, a combat unit with which the protagonist of the series, Shinji Ikari, protects the city of Tokyo 3 from the invasion of creatures known as the “angels”. For this reason, the most present colors on this clock are black, violet and green. Throughout its strap it is possible to see a violet design of the eyes of this combat unit, and in the posterior cover there is a recreation of its characteristic face.
Another example of this relationship between the brand and the anime is the case of the G-Shock dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the premiere of the Akira futuristic film. In this case it is a DW 6900 that stands out for having a strident red, the same color of the legendary Moto de Kaneda, protagonist of the film.
Another very popular series in the country is Sailor Moon that also had its exclusive watch, a white baby-g, with pink lyrics and the figure of Usagi Tsukino, also known as Serena on the screen.
These are just a few models of what is already a great tradition between G-Shock and animation. And these collaborations for special editions are far from ending since there will soon be important novelties in this regard, referring to one of the most beloved anime series in the world, starring a powerful extraterrestrial warrior.
