Carrefour celebrates 40 years in Argentina
To celebrate its 40 years of operation in the country, the retailer activated 40 days of promotions, the main ally when it comes to driving volumes in supermarket chains.

Carrefour turns 40 in Argentina and to celebrate it launched a spot in which it draws parallels with the current context. In the notice, the company states “we opened in the worst possible economic context, and the first thing we did was freeze prices.”
In 2022, in a scenario of strong inflationary escalation and fall in purchasing power, the chain once again appealed to this strategy, with its “Courageous Prices”, freezing a basket of products in order to boost sales and build consumer loyalty.
Now, to celebrate its 40 years of operation in the country, the retailer activated 40 days of promotions, the main ally when it comes to driving volumes in supermarket chains.
The French chain, which is headed in the country by Pablo Lorenzo, already has more than 600 branches with its different formats: Express, Market and Maxi. This year the firm expanded its capillarity with its wholesale proposal, opening new Carrefour Maxi branches in the province of Buenos Aires, where its presence is concentrated. This format is present in Buenos Aires in Tortuguitas, Laferrere, Burzaco, Moreno, Ezpeleta, Lomas de Zamora, Avellaneda and José C. Paz, as well as in Córdoba and Mendoza.
For its part, the company also aimed to improve its omnichannel experience. In August it launched its marketplace, which Whirlpool joined as the first supplier to offer its assortment to the more than 150,000 users who visit the chain's e-Commerce daily.
