After the successful 2024 edition of Project Desire - which had more than 15 thousand attendees who visited the Expo El Palacio Libertad and a circuit that showed more than 21 prototypes of furniture and furniture systems - Now project desire is called "Argentine furniture laboratory", with the aim of looking for the Argentine wooden furniture of the future, through the articulation of furniture companies with talents from national design.

During 2025, this call seeks to think, create and execute products and product systems using wood as the main material. "From the Argentine Furniture Institute we want to promote, make visible and revalue the Argentine furniture throughout the country. We aspire to improve productivity to position the Argentine furniture and increase its visibility both in the internal and external market, through the training and generation of value and innovation throughout the productive and commercial chain of the furniture", declares Pablo Bercovich, Faima Advisor at the IMA and Laboratory Coordinator.

The project also aims to create a productive link between the design and the furniture industry. To achieve this, it gathers furniture manufacturing companies with outstanding designers, promoting innovation and improving both production and market supply. This joint effort seeks not only to strengthen the furniture industry, but also to promote Argentine design at new levels of excellence and competitiveness.

But, given the case that the company is not specifically the item (metalworking, for example) but wishes to venture into the design and manufacture of furniture can do it anyway, as long as the final product is a furniture. The registered companies will be evaluated by Faima and IMA, which will define whether they are in a position to participate or not.
