The QR as an identifier of electrical products advances in its implementation
The Argentine Chamber of Electronic Security reported that since October 1, 2025, the new mandatory digital marking system will progressively govern, a measure aimed at strengthening the traceability, transparency and control of electrical and electronic products that are marketed in the country.
CASEL (Argentine Chamber of Electronic Safety) promotes continuous improvement from the MESE (Multicameral Business of Electrical Safety). The implementation of the QR code as an identifying element in products with electrical safety advances throughout Argentina. Since October 1, 2025, the progressive application of the new mandatory digital marking system began, which seeks to guarantee greater traceability, transparency and control over electrical and electronic products that reach the market.
This change represents a technological and regulatory leap that strengthens consumer protection and fair competition between manufacturers and importers, by allowing the validity of certifications to be verified in real time. By scanning the QR, the user accesses the Declaration of Conformity (DoC) and the product certificate, ensuring that it complies with current regulations and that it has been evaluated under the corresponding safety standards.
An implementation underway
Although the measure is already in force, its implementation is gradual and covers all companies in the electricity sector. Manufacturers, importers and distributors are working to adapt their labeling and technical documentation processes, while certification bodies update their platforms and control systems.
The new scheme, promoted by the Ministry of Commerce and the National Regulatory Entity, aims to modernize market surveillance, reduce the presence of non-compliant products and strengthen consumer confidence.
The digital traceability of the QR allows you to immediately identify whether a product meets regulatory requirements, generating a safer and more transparent environment for the entire value chain.
CASEL's role in the technical commission
The Argentine Chamber of Electronic Security (CASEL) actively participates in the inter-institutional work commission that accompanies the implementation of this new system. From its place, CASEL provides the vision of the electronic security sector, where electrical, electronic and communication components converge, and where electrical security certification is a key piece to guarantee the quality and reliability of the systems.
The work of the Chamber focuses on:
Contribute to the technical and regulatory analysis of the implementation process.
Propose improvements that favor the adaptation of the different market segments. Disseminate the new requirements among its associates and promote professional training instances. Promote an orderly and equitable transition process for national companies and integrators.
CASEL and the MESE: an institutional commitment
Since its founding, CASEL has been part of the MESE (Multicameral Business of Electrical Safety), an entity that brings together the main chambers of the sector with the aim of coordinating joint actions, promoting electrical safety and strengthening the national industry. Through the MESE, the Chamber participates in spaces for dialogue and consensus where technical guidelines are defined, regulations are evaluated and continuous improvement policies are promoted to raise the safety and quality standards of electrical and electronic products in the country.
Towards a safer and more transparent market
The adoption of the QR code marks a significant advance towards the digitalization and traceability of electrical products. Its progressive application demonstrates that the Argentine industry is taking firm steps towards greater professionalization, with the active collaboration of entities that, like CASEL, promote innovation, transparency and corporate responsibility. CASEL reaffirms its commitment to accompany this process, contribute its technical experience and continue working together with the MESE and the competent authorities in the construction of a more reliable, competitive and safe market for all.
