Crivel invests US$3 million in the production of electric ovens
The company's growth was not overshadowed even by the coronavirus pandemic, a period where it continued to fully increase its productive capacity. The company does not stop and in a few weeks it is ready to inaugurate its third 700 m2 warehouse for the manufacture of electric ovens.

Crivel, the metallurgical company dedicated to the manufacture of household appliances that is located on 27 de Febrero and Colombres (almost Circunvalación Avenue), has been facing a major expansion plan since 2019 that involved the construction of two large warehouses. The company's growth was not overshadowed even by the coronavirus pandemic, a period where it continued to fully increase its productive capacity. The company does not stop and in a few weeks it is ready to inaugurate its third 700 m2 warehouse for the manufacture of electric ovens, as the last stage of a global investment that required about US$3 million.
"We moved to the current property in 2019 with a 3,600 m2 warehouse that also had 300 m2 for offices. Shortly afterwards we added another 1,500 m2 and now we are going for the third, 700 m2. We are constantly growing and increasing production capacity," explained Roberto Cristiá, owner of Crivel, a company founded in 1948 and with a vast history in the home appliance industry. “The space we occupy on 27 de Febrero and Colombres exceeds 6,000 m2 of a total industrial area, shared with other companies, of 30,000 m2,” explained Cristiá.
On the other hand, the businessman highlighted that as part of this commitment they recently added a laser cutter. A team that will allow Crivel to streamline processes, reduce costs and at the same time produce more. "The incorporation of this machinery will allow us to manufacture parts that until now we bought from other suppliers. In addition, the investment directly translates into an increase in production capacity of 20%," said the owner of the company that is mainly dedicated to the production of fans, ovens and irons. “We sell products under our own brand and we also manufacture for third parties, throughout the country,” he added.
After complaints about the lack of basic services in the industrial area of the Ovidio Lagos corridor and consulted about the benefits and panorama of the area in which they are installed, Cristiá pointed out that in the neighborhood they have electricity, drinking water, sewage service and they are even installing the necessary infrastructure for the fiber optic network. “We only lack natural gas,” he acknowledged and explained that his company consumes gas to paint the products, so for the moment they are supplied with LPG or liquefied gas.
“We have the difficulty that everyone has in accessing foreign currency, but on the other hand there are no returned checks, there are no defaulters, the financial situation is optimal,” concluded the director of the company about Crivel's financial present.
