Casio presents a new metallic version of the first G-SHOCK from 1983
The GMW-B5000MB brings together individual components treated with burnished* and multiple polishing finishes into a premium, impact-resistant watch.

Casio announced the latest addition to its G-SHOCK brand of absolute toughness watches. Based on the GMW-B5000 – the first metallic model developed by the brand in 1983 – the Japanese manufacturer launches the original all-metal version of the first G-SHOCK, the new GMW-B5000MB features a variety of detailed finishes that come together in a refined black design.
The GMW-B5000MB brings together individual components treated with burnished* and multiple polishing finishes into a premium, impact-resistant watch with a uniquely attractive look that makes the most of texture and feel.
The entire exterior of the watch is polished and treated with a black ion plating for matte black sophistication, and additional finishes are applied to individual details. Fine finishing on the raised areas on the side of the bezel and sides of the band retains a metallic texture, while toning down shine. The mirror finish, on the other hand, adds shine to the surface of screws, buttons and other details.
With this latest model, Casio also adds a new finishing process to its collections. After the initial black ion coating, the top surface of the bezel is re-polished to a fine finish to expose the majority of the stainless steel beneath, with its silvery shine. The elegant and seamless integration of the silver tone stainless steel of the bezel and the matte black of the body, complemented by multiple finishes, results in a beautifully detailed quality design with a unique and sophisticated appearance.
The GMW-B5000MB's functionality is as good as its design. The watch comes with standard radio wave reception and Bluetooth connectivity, allowing the owner to use the G-SHOCK Connected app to maintain accurate timekeeping and easily manage alarms, world time, and other settings. The watch can also use convenient reminder and phone finder functions when paired with the app.
