The Whirlpool Argentina's appliance company lands at the Pilar Industrial Park with an investment of 40 million dollars. The production plant with technology is expected to generate more than 1,000 jobs, between direct and indirect.
The information was released yesterday during the presentation of the investment project carried out by the company against the Mayor Federico Achával and the Minister of Production, Science and Technological Innovation of the Province of Buenos Aires, Augusto Costa.
The factory will have an annual production capacity of 300 thousand units of high -end washing machines. Two thirds of production are expected to supply the Latin American market. Precisely, through the new plant developed on an area of 30 m2 with the possibility of expanding, the company aims to become the first white line export company in the country.
According to authorities of the firm that has 30 years of experience in the country, the choice of Pilar as a location is based on the strategic location presented by the Industrial Park, with proximity to the main export ports and that makes it possible to continue expanding and reinforce its current value chain.
In this regard, the communal chief said that "production, investment and work are the way to get ahead and build a future with more and better opportunities." "This investment," he continued, "demonstrates the productive potential that our district has, with real opportunities for growth and strengthening of our national industry. In addition, it means the incorporation of new genuine jobs."
They also participated in the presentation, the Undersecretary of Industry, SMEs and Cooperatives, Mariela Bembi, and the Secretary of Infrastructure, Planning and Public Services, Guido Bordachaha.
The new plant will be added to which the company has in La Tablada, in the La Matanza party, where it manufactures 80% of the kitchens and washing machines in the country. There, he uses 500 people, among direct collaborators (200) and indirect (300).
