At Mobile World Congress, Samsung Electronics unveiled its One UI Watch user experience, available for Galaxy Watch on the new unified platform created with Google to improve performance, provide a more seamless experience between the watch and Android smartphones, and provide access to more apps. The company revealed that the next Galaxy Watch will be the first to feature the new platform and the One UI Watch will make its debut at Unpacked later this summer in the northern hemisphere.
As part of the new experience, once watch-compatible apps are installed on the smartphone, they will be downloaded to the smartwatch. If the clock app on the phone has been customized to show the time in different cities around the world, this will also be automatically reflected on the wearable and if calls and messages are blocked on the watch, they will also be blocked on the phone.
Samsung will also bring an improved watch face design tool, making creating new faces easier for designers. Later this year, Android developers will be able to unleash their creativity and release fun new designs that will be added to Samsung's growing collection of watch faces to give consumers more options to personalize their wearables to suit their mood, activity and personality.
