Lenovo becomes global partner of Formula 1 in renewed agreement
Lenovo will be the title sponsor of two races per season, and Lenovo and Motorola will have a greater on-track brand presence at the events.
Formula 1® y Lenovo announced the expansion of their partnership that will see the technology giant elevated to the status of Socio Global in a multi-year renewal that will begin in early 2025. As part of the agreement, Motorola, a subsidiary of Lenovo Group, will become F1 Global Smartphone Partner.
As a Global Partner of Formula 1, Lenovo will continue to provide F1 with cutting-edge technology devices, solutions and services to support the realization of the Grands Prix on the track and at a distance. Under the agreement, Lenovo will be the title sponsor of two races per season, and Lenovo and Motorola will have a greater brand presence on the track at events.
From 2022, technology Lenovo has been at the center of F1 operations as an Official Partner. Through its on-premise High-Performance Computing (HPC) solutions, servers and edge devices, Lenovo has been supporting Formula 1 with the delivery of its best-in-class broadcast product, bringing the excitement of F1 to millions of fans around the world, with a truly global team that is always connected. Lenovo hardware, including laptops, workstations, desktop computers and monitors, as well as Motorola tablets and smartphones, provides F1 staff with high-quality equipment to create engaging, personalized content for passionate fans of the ever-expanding sport.
Additionally, Lenovo Asset Recovery Service supports F1's broader sustainability strategy, along with its efforts to reduce emissions and reach Net Zero by 2030. Lenovo Asset Recovery Service ensures that retired computer hardware is recycled in a socially and environmentally conscious manner. Since the inception of the partnership, F1 has sustainably eliminated 95% of obsolete hardware, ultimately helping to reduce costs and mitigate security risks through reliable data destruction with greater security.
Throughout the partnership, Lenovo has aimed integrate smarter technology into sport. The world's first kiss-activated trophies at the FORMULA 1 LENOVO JAPANESE GRAND PRIX 2023 and FORMULA 1 LENOVO UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX 2023, along with this year's laurel wreath design, which blends tradition and innovation, elevated the podium celebrations and serve as strong symbols of Lenovo's drive for purposeful design and cutting-edge technology.
In recent years, F1 has seen significant growth in popularity, with increasing television audiences, record attendance and fan engagement across all platforms. Both F1 and Lenovo share a commitment to sustainability and technology exploration next-generation, such as Lenovo AI PCs, Motorola AI smartphones, and AR/VR solutions.
Through direct collaboration between F1 technical teams and Lenovo Centers of Excellence, highly innovative solutions are being found to various challenges, such as Using on-site AI and Edge Compute solutions to improve operational efficiency during F1 live broadcasts. Together, F1 and Lenovo will continue to build on years of successful collaboration to develop the future of the sport.
