This device has enhanced security and privacy features and a battery life of up to 20 hours.
As with all ThinkPads, the T490s was tested to 12 military-grade specifications and underwent more than 200 quality tests to ensure it performs in extreme conditions. This equipment works both in the arctic aridity and in desert sand storms and in zero gravity, with spills or falls.
The T490s gives you up to 20 hours of battery life*. And, if you're running out of charge, Rapid Charge technology delivers up to 80% capacity in just one hour. Thus, during a meal break or a 60-minute stopover on a flight, it can easily be recharged for up to almost 16 hours.
"We understand and know the concerns that people face daily with their equipment. The battery is one of them, both in terms of its duration and useful life, which is why ThinkPad T490s is the equipment with which Lenovo breaks with these problems by adapting to the needs that users need, favoring the easy and quick mobility of users," said Octavio Fonseca, Corporate Manager of Lenovo.
Additionally, the T490s features an optional FHD display with PrivacyGuard for sensitive data that needs to be kept safe from prying eyes. This is a unique technology that reduces the field of view of information displayed on the screen from all angles except the front. At the same time, it has ThinkShutter, a physical cover that you can slide open when you want to use the camera and close it when you're done. It is also possible to add an optional IR (infrared) camera and an optional touch fingerprint reader for biometric login.
Regarding connection, with the T490s, you will always be connected whether you are out of the office or working from your desk. The optional LTE-A card allows you to operate worldwide. Meanwhile, the optional Lenovo ThinkPad Pro Docking Station (sold separately), a side-mounted USB Type-C mechanical docking station, easily connects to two male Type-C ports that automatically snap and level your device. Once docked, the ThinkPad locks in place and connects to all your peripherals.
Since 2007, Lenovo has used the US Department of Defense's MIL-STD 810G* standards to help its products achieve a perfect balance of value and durability right out of the box. Tested for 12 military standards in 23 different procedures (humidity, extreme temperature, high temperatures, explosive atmosphere, solar radiation, altitude, fungi, sand and dust, low temperatures, mechanical shock, vibration, on-board vibration).
