HP Inc. introduced the new model of the HP LaserJet Enterprise 400 series printer, which offers a manageable and business-class experience in a small size for remote work and new office setups.
Ready or not, companies have had to rapidly transition to a much more distributed workforce, transforming a few offices into thousands of home offices. As a result, they need intuitive, agile and connected devices that can be securely managed remotely to support how and where people need to work.
“La pandemia COVID-19 ha creado fuerzas de trabajo híbridas, con el 72% de los trabajadores de oficina diciendo que les gustaría trabajar fuera de la oficina por lo menos dos días a la semana, incluso cuando el virus ya no sea una preocupación,” así lo expresó Carlos Pérez, líder de Office Printing Solutions de HP Inc. América Latina. “We think the time is right for this new, small, powerful printer that offers everything a person could expect from a business printer and fits where and how people work now and in the future, whether remote or in the office.”
Security has also become a top concern, both for IT administrators and home workers. According to a new HP Workforce Evolution Study, security software was ranked by office workers in the United States and Europe as the top priority for home office upgrades, further underscoring the demand for secure work solutions.
HP's smallest business all-in-one offers:
• The most secure printer in the world for companies of any size, regardless of where they work from:
• HP builds security into every step of the printer design, supply chain, and production process.
• HP Sure Start with self-healing capability, which protects, detects and recovers from vulnerabilities and attacks.
• HP Trusted Platform Module (TPM), which provides secure device identity with private certificate keys, strengthening protection for credentials and encrypted data.
• Security features go beyond the hardware, including the cartridge for an end-to-end secure printing system that protects your network and information.
• Hassle-free remote fleet management frees up IT resources for strategic priorities.
• Ability to easily manage devices and settings remotely with HP Web Jetadmin and HP JetAdvantage Security Manager.
• Easily deploy and integrate HP and third-party solutions with the HP Open Extensibility Platform. Compatible with card readers, it allows users to use custom settings to print from their own list.
In addition to the new devices, HP announced a new version of HP FutureSmart firmware, which enables a secure and consistent operating system across the entire HP business printer series. Along with the launch of the LaserJet Enterprise 400 Series, FutureSmart 5 offers users investment protection, additional security protections, and immediate readiness for advanced cloud-based workflows.
“Typical attacks on printers can exploit older versions of firmware, allowing the device to be taken over and halted from operation,” said Mark Vena, senior analyst at Moor Insights & Strategy. “HP is combating printer security risk with a layered, defense-in-depth approach to protect the printing device along with associated supplies.”
