Zoom Video Communications, the star provider of video conferencing services since last year, launched a $100 million fund for developers of collaboration and productivity applications. A venture capital fund was created to invest in the first stage between 250,000 and 2.5 million dollars in each company that develops services integrated into the platform. The company will support those who create viable products that provide engaging experiences. Digital whiteboards for drawing ideas are mentioned as possibilities, although the opening of the fund would also include telemedicine applications and video conferencing hardware that takes advantage of Zoom's cloud-based video systems.

In the 2020 download ranking published by Apptopia on its blog, Zoom appears in fifth place, behind TikTok, Whatsapp, Facebook and Instagram, but in the analysis carried out by mobileworldlive, considering only communications applications, Zoom is ranked second, with 477 million downloads and only surpassed by WhatsApp, with 600 million and ahead of Messenger, downloaded 403 million times.
