The third edition of the Peabody Award for Argentine Design is launched
The appliance brand once again presents its contest to praise the best design concepts in Argentina with the theme “Beyond the Present: Design for the near future”

Peabody announces the third edition of his prize. This is a distinction that already has important and outstanding antecedents.
The theme will be “Beyond the Present: Designing the near future” seeking to anticipate changes in living and how this discipline also incorporates artificial intelligence as a productive tool and understands the environmental crisis.
The participation of students or recent graduates (up to 1 year) from various disciplines is sought to enrich the contest with a wide range of knowledge. Although the central axis continues to be Argentine design, the inclusion of perspectives from other areas around design, such as engineering, architecture, and technological development, is encouraged. This ensures a comprehensive and multidimensional evaluation of the proposals. The same You can register for free, individually or in groups. (up to 5 members per team), and present your proposals until March 10, 2025 inclusive, in www.premiopeabody.com.ar
The new approach invites interested parties to develop proposals that respond to these questions from an innovative and reflective perspective. The intention is that the projects not only address the problem, but also materialize in concrete and viable proposals. These can manifest themselves in various ways, from design products and technological developments to improvements in production processes with less environmental impact.
The first edition of the Award resulted in the development of the eTermo, a novel product that was presented to the national market in 2021 and that already has outstanding distinctions at the national level (Good Design Seal) and international (Ibero-American Design Biennial and Red Dot Design Award).
Peabody Award for Argentine Design, received 500% more proposals last year than the first. Design students from more than 11 studios presented their projects with the most varied themes: waste treatment, water purifiers, mobility, lighting, air conditioning, cooking and many more. A portable kitchen, a cup that grinds coffee and a lunch box were the ideas that stood out in the contest.
"Our company has been living design in a unique way for more than 20 years. We are motivated to explore our culture and new scenarios of daily life, with the aim of proposing ideas that result in improving the user experience," remarked Dante Choi, president of Goldmund S.A., the company that owns the home appliance brand. And he added, “It is impossible not to think about your future in coexistence with the environment and focused on the diversity of people”.
