With the help of a local supplier, the renowned Japanese electronics brand resumes its operations in the local market with a specific method.

At the beginning of March 2020, before the Covid-19 pandemic broke out, the crisis in the local electronics sector swallowed up an emblematic brand like Panasonic. At that time, the firm decided to leave after having suffered a collapse in sales in the last five years, affected by the sharp shrinking of the market in the country.

Although it did not have its own production, it closed its offices in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Parque Patricios from where the imports of its items and customer service were coordinated and became part of Panasonic do Brasil.

Now, two and a half years later, the company based in the Japanese city of Osaka returns to the market with the help of a local distributor such as BVS, one of the main designers and integrators of projects within the framework that generates digital convergence in different industries.

The company has alliances with strategic partners, world leaders in design, manufacturing, research, marketing and technology services, in addition to providing infrastructure solutions, high quality services and communications also in several countries in America and Europe.

In this context, it has been chosen as the only company that will be able to officially distribute Panasonic products in Argentina, after the signing of an agreement between both companies and Merlin Distributor, marketer for Latin America.

Through a statement, Juan Lorenzo, New Business Sales Director of BVS, assured that Panasonic's expertise will allow his company to "further expand its offering and continue providing its customers with top-level products and services."

Growth plan: Panasonic's objective in Argentina
Based on this agreement, the local firm devised a development plan for Panasonic based on two premises that will be the basis for its growth: a solid after-sales service and a broad ecosystem of distributors. In addition, BVS guarantees and prioritizes technical support from a technological perspective.

Regarding the new distribution network, a series of companies have already been preselected to be official distributors of the Japanese brand in order to focus on meeting the needs of customers throughout the country.

"Panasonic needed a distributor that could make a difference in its processes in Argentina; a benchmark in the market that could generate disruptive growth in sales. We are convinced that we are going to generate that impact. It is a unique opportunity to replicate our work model with one of the historical brands in the sector: excellence in service, closeness to the customer, flexibility and long-term relationships," Lorenzo highlighted.
