Working fully on the use of renewable energy, Olympic presents a solution based on the use of solar energy to replace traditional electrical current in an emergency. It is an 8 volt kit that can be used in outdoor activities such as camping, in homes and offices and that according to César Vargas, Commercial Manager of the company, has an affordable price, in line with the audience segment and the use to which it is directed, which adds an advantage to the specific benefit and utility it provides. “This is important, especially if we take into account that the general use of solar panels is still in its infancy and both the panel, the battery and the transformer do not have low costs,” he explained.

Although he acknowledged that this type of equipment is not a definitive energy solution, for example because they cannot keep a refrigerator running, Vargas highlighted that they are a great intermediate solution, which can power 4 or 5 lamps in the house during an emergency and charge a cell phone or laptop. “It is a relatively new product, but ideal to market in the home goods channel, because its use is totally applicable to the daily activities of any person, in their home, office or any workplace,” Vargas explained. "In the event of a power outage, it is connected to a battery with a charger that even comes with FM radio and while the mains power is restored, a device can be charged or the current lighting can be saved."

One of the equipment that Olympic offers is itself environmentally friendly, because it has 80% of its components recycled. For this, and for the usefulness it provides, the company was selected by the newspaper La Nación and the HSBC Bank among more than 700 projects to participate in the 2019 Award for Medium and Small Businesses in the Sustainability Category. The kit comes in a pack shaped like a small suitcase, practical both for displaying and transporting it.
