Motorola announced that during the quarter from October to December 2021, the company managed to lead the mobile market in Argentina, with 45.2% market share, the highest for the company globally, according to IDC.

The company grew 53% locally in volume, in an industry that shrank 1%. This allowed it to increase its market share 15.9 percentage points year-over-year, according to the IDC Mobile Phone Tracker 4Q21, a report that contains the analysis of the fourth quarter of 2021.

The company also maintained a growth rate throughout Latin America, where in the same quarter it grew year-over-year by more than 7 percentage points, and reached 22.7% market share, according to IDC, thanks to a year-on-year growth in volume of 34% (while the industry fell 9%). Motorola is in second position in the regional market uninterruptedly for the last 5 years.

"Argentina is a very important market for the brand globally, and we are proud to have reached the #1 position in the country. During 2021 we led the entry segment with the moto e family, we launched a new generation of the moto g family, which allowed us to continue our positioning in the mid-range, and we began to compete very strongly in the premium market, with the motorola edge family. In addition, we strengthened our own channels, and we managed to be leaders in the main operators and retailers in the country, which It allowed us to reach first position. But that's not all: we continue to promote the development of 5G technology in Argentina, with 7 products compatible with these networks already available on the market,” commented Germán Greco, general manager of Motorola Argentina.
